Project Nepal

   Project Nepal exists to help educate orphaned and indigent children.  We believe that they are as smart as other children around the world, but lack the resources and opportunities to succeed in education.  Our mission is to bring our community into their community to teach, mentor, and assist their educational progress.

             Project Nepal’s mission is to provide funding and resources for children, most of them orphaned, who are motivated enough to want to attend school. Specifically,we

¨ create sponsorships for their tuition

¨ provide physical resources such as uniforms, books, and even pencils

¨  raise money to convert rooms into classrooms

¨ pay for teachers and supplies,

¨ replace the aged bus that picks them up from four area orphanages and thus

¨ turn disadvantaged children into educational success stories. 

      We seek to live out Mahatma Ghandi’s creed that a society is measured not by how they treat their wealthy citizens, but by how they treat their less fortunate ones.

YouTube remove music videos with artists from the Warner

This past weekend, Warner Music Group ordered YouTube to remove music videos with artists from the Warner stable, Variety reports. Warners, who owns the copyright, wants to control all of the promotion as well.
The music and film industry have always seen the Internet as a blessing and a curse. Warner Music Group is the market leader when it comes to buying music online; i.e. downloading songs legally. WMG was also the first company to strike a deal with TouTube – which represents less than 1% of their total revenue of $639 million 2008.

( Eng ) Samsung Electronics has unveiled the Samsung INNOV8 i8510 phone, which features an impressive 8 megapixel camera. The INNOV8 phone is based on Symbian OS v9.3 and offers access to a suite of applications from the S60 applications library. This slider style cameraphone sports a 2.8” LCD display, and comes with 8 or 16GB internal memory, an FM radio, Bluetooth, and GPS navigation. It is also capable of recording QVGA video at up to 120 frames per second, and VGA resolution video at 30 frames per second.

Samsung INNOV8 is a 3G HSDPA phone offering fast connectivity at 7.2Mbps, and you can also connect via Wi-Fi. Look for this cameraphone to first be available in Europe starting in August 2008. Pricing was not yet announced.

President of USA – Barack Obama, his wife, Michelle, and their two daughters will spend the holidays in the Hawaiian islands, trading frozen Lake Michigan for warmer waters. They are planning a beachside vacation with friends at one of Oahu’s most exclusive properties.
Obama last visited Hawaii in October to see his ailing grandmother, Madelyn Payne Dunham. Dunham died at the age of 86 on Nov. 2, two nights before her grandson won the presidential election.
A public memorial service was held for Dunham last month, but the family did not attend. Obama and his family are expected to pay tribute to his grandmother during the trip.

Perhaps one of the most exciting developments in the cell phone industry this year was the final release of the T-Mobile G1 (also known as the HTC Dream), and with it, the first commercial version of the Android operating system.
Even though we thought the G1 itself left much to be desired, we were impressed overall at the potential of the Android OS, and encouraged that Google’s Open Handset Alliance might finally move the open-source platform forward. But, of course, Google faces great challenges ahead just in terms of market share–Symbian and Windows Mobile have a huge stake in the smart phone market, not to mention the Apple iPhone and RIM’s line of BlackBerrys.
